Is a phone required for sixth form

My parents have refused to buy me a phone citing that I am still a child and asking me why I need a phone. Next year I am going into sixth form and am wondering if anything in sixth form requires your own personal phone.

Ngl mate, a simple nokia brick works just as well as a iphone. They probably serve more as distraction but I do know my littles brother time table has gone digital so you may do if your sixth form is the same.
