Switching from Psychology with counselling to Computer science

Hi everyone,

I am currently studying with the OU and I'm 3 years in (part time) to my psychology degree. I know degrees are rarely fun but the longer I've studied the more I've realised that I am not enjoying or engaged in the subject.

I've also been considering job prospects, and my introverted nature is leading me towards something that isn't client facing (I started the course due to wanting to be a counsellor).

My intuition is pushing me towards CS and AI. I've always been been interested in technology and have had a small amount of experience in IT support. I know there has been a slump in the job market recently.

I have worked full time more or less since I was 18 (now 25) so I would like to continue to work whilst studying.

Am I insane, or is this a good opportunity for change? If anyone has similar experience and can offer some insight, I'd really appreciate it.

Many thanks
Jamie
