Independent Visits

Good afternoon!

Unfortunately, due to illness, I was unable to head up to Oxford for their open day last month. Specifically, I was going to attend the medical department’s sessions. Does anyone know or have experience with arranging independent visits?

Oxford’s website states you can book them, but then goes on to say that departments are rarely open bar their specific open days… If I were to call (on that note, I can’t work out which number to call), what are the chances I’d be able to get a look around the medical departments - is it worth going, or waiting until next year’s open days? Further, what would an independent visit actually include?

Also, would be interested from anyone with experience, could and should I try to see if any of the colleges are open to tours?

If you are in year 12 then don’t worry, there will be plenty more open days. If you are in year 13 then presumably you have already submitted your UCAS so a visit won’t change anything. I wouldn’t worry too much.
