Uni Art Portfolios

I want to get into a pretty prestigious uni.
And every art portfolio I see used as an example has amazing portraiture work in it, but I do not specialise in portraiture and so they dont feel useful.
Does anyone have any tips on what unis like to see in portfolios other than fancy sketches?
I'm panicking that my art isnt good enough because I'm a conceptual 3d artist.

It might help people if you specify which university and which degree; it's near impossible to give focused help without that information. When you say you are a conceptual 3D artist, what do you mean? I can think of at least two radically different art roles that could be that statement - do you mean you are a fine art sculptor who works in a conceptual style? Or do you mean that you create digital 3D models as concepts for use in the film and games industries?
