Is Reading Uni diverse in comparison to other universities?

Hey @_mangosmoothie_ ,
We absolutely have a diverse student body, with over 26,000 students from 150+ countries! A lot of our ongoing work as a university includes prioritising diversity and inclusion within our practices, and we have recently introduced a new role to our student ambassador cohort of Diversity and Inclusion Champion - a role anyone with a passion for the issue can undertake to ensure University and Ambassador work ensures the protection of protected characteristics.

Our Student Union is arguably the hub of our uni, and features 130+ culture, faith, and just social societies that aim to create safe spaces for people from all backgrounds and empower our students, as well as there being multiple places of prayer for people of faith across our campus, and a number of measures to ensure people of all physical ability can thrive here. Find out all about it on our website, readingsu.co.uk. We elect an officer for Diversity and Inclusion every year current officer Gabe James is doing a lot of work on our social medias that you might be interested in, especially Instagram (our main account is uniofreading and you can find all associated pages from there!).

If you would like to learn more about the work we do on the topic, I'd encourage you to check out this page!

Please do let us know if you have any other or more specific questions and we'd be happy to help you out as best we can!
