I can't really help as I do OCR and we haven't covered gender yet, sorry :frown:
Perhaps you can bring up the criticisms of language and its limitations- how, no matter how much we try and acknowledge that our language is limited and symbolic/analogical, we will always unconsciously interpret the word in terms of the literal human sense we know. So, if someone has a better experience of a mother figure than a 'father' figure, they would be justified in calling God mother, because after all, a believer would not want to taint their image of God negatively. The word 'mother may connote better ideas for some than the word 'father' or vice versa. Hope that makes sense.
