Is it possible to do a gcse in Japanese as a distance learning course ?

My daughter is in college doing a Btec in graphic design at the moment but really wanted to be able to take Japanese but there was nothing like that anywhere near us so I’m wondering if anyone knows of a Japanese gcse course that she can do from home ? It is important that it’s a recognised qualification so she can use it in her university application. Has anyone studied ant home and booked themselves onto gcse exams etc ? Ideally there would be an online/distance learning option but so far I can’t find one .
