Hiya,
I am currently a second year student for computer at the University of Sheffield so hopefully I can help you out a little with your decision
In terms of the degree itself, maths does play a role to a certain extent. In my first year, out of 8 modules, I had 1 maths module. So far in my first semester of second year, out of 4 modules, I have 1 maths module. However that is not to say that none of the other modules contain maths at all as a basic knowledge is required. There is support provided by the university if you need extra support which you can find out about more here.

How much is in foundation apparently bare not just math chem and physics and engineering
Hiya, I am not quite sure I understand what you are meaning to ask? Is it in terms of the range of subjects covered in a foundation year?
While I did not undertake a foundation year myself, I have a few friends who did. A foundation year allows to consolidate any gaps in your education before you progress onto your degree. Therefore, you build your foundations in subjects that will support you later on.
