(-) Lacks ecological validity. Hitting a bobo doll is not the same as hitting a real person. It could be that the child knew there would be no consequences and therefore imitated the aggressive behaviour.

(-) lacks population validity. Sample consisted of children from the USA therefore findings may not be generalised to other countries/cultures. Also, small sample so lacks generalisability.
