How can I help bring my boyfriends school attendance up?
My boyfriend is a year younger than me in year 11. We’ve been dating for a year and everything is good accept for his lack of commitment to school. His attendance is below 15% and he needs to apply to college/apprenticeships soon. I don’t know how to help or get him to come into school to get his grades and attendance up. He’s smart and is capable of these grades as his teachers also mention but he refuses to go to school. Do you think he can still get into college/an apprenticeship? If so is there anything I can try do? I’ve tried talking to him many times.
You're his girlfriend not his mum. If you have spoken to him and he thinks he knows better than you then you either need to drop it or drop him.
If you've spoken to him many times then short of coddling him, he's not going to change his ways.
