a level photography help!!

I have lots of old photos from my grandparents from when they were children, and other people from the time period. I had an idea to use these and digitally manipulate them on photoshop to add colourful splotches etc. Is this allowed in a level photography as they are not photos i have originally taken?

This should be allowed as long as you mention within your annotation that the original photos were not taken by you.
