Physiotherapy degree Vs neuroscience degree

hey guys,
I am in year 13 and have applied for university. I ended up applying for two physio courses and attended interviews and received offers and two neuroscience courses which I also have offers for. I am doing a levels in biology, psychology and maths. I have a major interest in the brain and nervous system and particularly neurological disorders. I am unsure which degree to pursue as physiotherapy is more direct contact with patients which I'd find very fulfilling and I have a great interest in functioning of the body. A career in neurological physiotherapy has been suggested to me by my psychology teacher and this does sound very interesting but I'm unsure how I'd get into that career. Does anyone have any insight on which would be better for getting careers in the future? Also which degree would be better at university? I would appreciate any insight on getting into neurological physiotherapy also.
Thank you very much

Becoming a neurological physiotherapist is fairly straight forward once you have completed your Physiotherapy degree.

1.

Get your physiotherapy degree, there are many options... HERE

2.

Either complete your Junior physiotherapy rotations (band 5 rotations) in the NHS OR apply for private neurological physiotherapist jobs, however the latter are fewer and far between jobs wise

3.

If you choose the former, then apply for a neurological physiotherapy band 6 rotation like THIS once you have completed all your rotations

4.

If you wish to become more specialized / educated... complete a MSc in Neurophysiotherapy

5.

Work your up to band 7 and band 8 over many years

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Aaron.

hi! I'm not sure where your neuro offers were from, but ive completed an undergrad at the uni of Nottingham and it was amazing! so so fascinating and I don't regret it one bit. my advice would be go for the neuroscience undergrad, and then do a physio masters! I don't have envy experience within the field ... but its really great to have the underlying neuroscience degree and then go on to specialise like you want to.
