What programming language should I learn before starting C.S at Plymouth Uni?

What programming language should I familiarise myself with before starting my BSc in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Plymouth?

I do very minimal coding background and so I was going to go with Python but some of my friends who are currently studying the course said I should learn C++ instead?

Hi, I'm a final year comp sci student at Plymouth - I did mostly C# with a bit of JavaScript and assembly in first year. Not sure if it's still the same but hope this helps! A general knowledge of C-like languages is useful throughout the course, as well as JavaScript. First year also has a lot of resources for learning programming, so don't worry if you don't have a super in-depth knowledge of languages yet.

Hey! Thanks for the reply. I’m currently learning C through Harvard’s CS50x course but I’ll definitely work more on the C-like languages after that. What have you specialised in?
