How to get into marketing as an English grad?
I’m a second year English/History student and I am thinking about a career in marketing after I graduate next year. I am worried that I won’t have enough relevant experience for any of the graduate schemes that I was looking at, or any graduate jobs.
I am predicted a 1.1 in my degree which is good but obviously it doesn’t massively relate to marketing beyond writing skills. I have a lot of extracurriculars to demonstrate writing skills (educational instagram page/blog, won writing competitions, published articles etc.) but not so much other stuff.
I am currently taking the Hubspot Inbound Marketing Course and plan to take a few others but will this be enough? I have been looking into getting marketing work experience but haven’t found anything.
Also I am not sure which specific areas of marketing appeal to me - I like content creation and social media and have the most experience in this so maybe digital marketing would be good? I’m not sure.
