Hey, congrats for the interview offer from lsbu! May I ask did you just apply with dental nursing? And what sort of questions did lsbu ask you?

I’m applying with both my dental nursing diploma, and a HE access course. They have an interview breakdown on their website that I used to practice as well as general questions, when shortlisted for an interview they provide you with a little more resources to practice from. If you follow what they say, you should be well prepared, I would say just know the basic questions you may get for what you are applying to. I’m sure everyone’s interview is slightly different but, I hope that helped!
Im currently applying with 6 years in dentistry almost 2 qualified and on a access to HE course - feeling bit bummed out from my response so far, but did see a girl had applied for 3 years in a row without being successful :'(

Not yet, I’m trying to also stay positive but it’s very challenging. At the moment I’m taking no news as good news 🥲 I’m waiting to hear back from 4 of my options and plus my result of my interview. This is my third time applying myself, this time I have everything I need so if I don’t get it I think I’ll go travelling 😂 and try again later.

May I know apart from the dental nursing and access course have u done anything else? Have u completed ur access course?

I’m hoping to apply to university next year for DHDT.
I’ve been qualified as a dental nurse for a year now, I have a level 2 infection control post qual, and currently studying a level 4 oral health education post qualification. Then In September I’m starting a science access to HE course.
I’ve also signed up to dentaid if any volunteer opportunities come up near me and for bright bites which is basically teaching young children in schools OHI.
I’m just wondering if anyone has any advice on anything extra I can do to get on the course, it’s a huge passion of mine and I really want to be successful next year 🙂

Hey that sounds like you have a good start going!
I honestly think if you have that and do well on the acess course youll be flying!!
Make sure your personal statement stands out or at least shows your enthusiasim for dentistry! For interview prep oragnise bullet points for things to mention so it can be more natural and allow your brain to show its passion when speaking to the board! Have questions to ask them too! Look at specifics of their course, ask about them(each uni u get interviewed for)! It shows you've done your research! Best of Luck, sounds like dentisrty will be lucky to have you ! <3

That’s what I’m afraid of, I want to show how genuine and passionate I am to get on the course. I just know I’m going to crumble when it comes to having an interview, I am AWFUL at interviews, my mind just melts x
