Biochemistry jobs

I’m currently studying biochemistry and I’m not sure what to do after I graduate or what jobs I could get (apart from research). Can anyone who is also studying or has already graduated help?

Hi @Haris04

I'm also studying biochemistry! I'm currently in my 3rd year and I'm on a placement year at a biotechnology company.

There's lots of options after studying biochemistry at university! You could obviously go into research, but maybe think about whether you'd prefer to go into academia (e.g. PhD, post doc) or maybe into industry where your research is more targeted, working towards discovering a product/process alongside other researchers. You could also go into manufacturing, management (either science related like clinical trials, or outside of science through a graduate program). Other options include finance, or law (patent law often hires people with a life science background).

At the moment I want to go into drug discovery in industry, as I'm loving my placement year and what I'm doing now!
