Really depends on how it's said TBH.
If she gives you "the once over" (e.g. checks you out; looking you up & down) and says coyly "mmm... you're cute", then there's a good chance she likes you or at least finds you physically attractive. If she also licks her lips, then it's a sure sigh. (N.B. In American high school slang, "cute" basically means "hot")
On the other hand, if she says (fairly loudly) "Aww, you're soooo cuuute" then it's far more likely to be in the literal sense (e.g. like a small child or a puppy or something). You do the maths. I know it's not the same as Hot, buff, fit etc.... but it's still way better than being ugly, no?
