Essentially being kind of 'obsessed', or basically being too nice and caring that you are labelled a 'simp' for someone because you're giving them attention. It's honestly a stupid term, to avoid just don't be 'really eager' to do anything for the person or talk about them a lot.
Again I think being called a simp is stupid, it just shows that you care. Don't be too clingy though because that can annoy people.
