Hi @Tmurrayy,

We really hope your Occupational Therapy interview went well! 😊

For anyone wondering, taking a gap year or time out from education won’t put you at a disadvantage, it can actually be a great talking point in your interview! Interviewers want to see how you communicate and work with others, so just be yourself and engage naturally with the group.

Here are some tips to help you prepare for any upcoming interviews:

1.) Do your research: Visit the university website, course prospectuses, and department pages to get an idea of course structure, topics, modules, and work placements.
2.) Stay updated: Keep up to date with developments in your subject by reading articles, magazines, and journals, or listening to relevant radio and TV programs. Taking notes on them can help you discuss current issues in your field.
3.) Review your personal statement: Go over your personal statement to ensure you remember what you wrote and can talk about any experiences in detail. Tutors will likely ask about it!
4.) Check your tech: Since your interview is on Zoom, double-check that your internet, microphone, and camera are working before the interview begins.
5.)Listen as much as you speak: Group interviews are about teamwork! Showing that you can collaborate and respect others' opinions is just as important as what you contribute.

I hope that this helps! We’d love to hear your other interview tips in the comments below! And if anyone has an interview coming up, let us know how you’re feeling 😊

Best wishes,

Clare

Learn the NHS values and 6 Cs and try to relate your work experience and answers to scenario questions to them.
