Not really.

In the first year, you do a maths module which teaches you fundamentals needed for the degree, however after this, there isn’t many mathematics heavy modules that are compulsory.

The comp sci modules that the comp sci students do are more maths heavy compared to software eng.

Hope this helps!

Did you have a lot of coding knowledge prior to starting the course or will they teach you in the course itself?

Are there any of your cohort with a T-Level rather than A-Levels and how are they finding the course?

I had some coding knowledge prior to starting the course but I'd say it was very basic. I had not done any huge coding projects, just small things like a temperature converter on Python.

The Programming Fundamentals module will teach from the very basics, however it does progress quite quickly with a new topic every week, so if you are new, you definitely may need to spend time outside going over content you may not understand.

There is a weekly drop in session where 2nd/3rd Year students and staff in the department can help with any troubles you may have with the content.
