I want to work as a detective through the degree route. Should I get a psychology degree or one in forensic psychology. Forensic psychology I see helping more in the career. I’m just wondering if it really matters as I feel some options will be cut off if I go down that path. As I’m not sure I will change my mind in the future
I would get a Psychology degree as it somewhat shows you’re more well rounded in different areas of psychology which you would come across as a detective (e.g. aspects of social psychology)
It also shows you have a solid grounding in research of these areas presenting yourself as an academic.
Then in Year 3 of this course you can choose modules which are suited to your interests like Forensic Psychology modules and Social Psychology modules!
