TSR's One Album a Day Club

Technically a compilation album because the songs were recorded before albums were really a thing, but I'll suggest Robert Johnson - King of the Delta Blues Singers. There are a lot of different compilation albums of his songs but this one should be 16 tracks, 43 (or 45) mins long.

I gave Party Rock a go, but... bleah. Just not for me.
Evanescence - Fallen

Good album :yy: (for some reason I thought we'd already had it) - nice variety and some great songs, 9/10
Evanescence - Fallen

Going Under - Oddly the song I remember the least on the album. It's not bad.

Bring Me to Life - Infinitely better. :yy: Guess I always skipped track 1 to get here!

Everybody’s Fool - Nice. :yy:

My Immortal - Best song on the album... but not the best version.

Haunted - Spooky! :yy:

Tourniquet - Yes. :yy:

Imaginary - Sweet. :yy:

Taking Over Me - Solid. :yy:

Hello - Beautifully dark. :yy:

My Last Breath - :ditto: :yy:

Whisper - Passable.

My Immortal (Band Version) - Best version of the best song on the album. :yy:

9/10 is about right.

Alright, my first Evanescence album.

Going Under - nice. Felt long.

Bring Me To Life - WAKE ME UP

Everybody's Fool - eh.

My Immortal - different. I like.

Haunted - oo spooky.

Tourniquet - alright

Imaginary - alright

Taking Over Me - alright

Hello - oh, the other one I know. Very nice

My Last Breath - ok.

Whisper - good.

My Immortal (again) - ah that's nice.

Not bad, not many memorable. 6.5/10
King of the Delta Blues is an album probably more talked about than listened to, it could really do with some remastering but there's only so much you can do with a recording from the 30s. In this case it's not really about the album, more about the person and the influence the music had.

Idk, I can't really give a score. It's good music, but the whole package doesn't really work.

Will also nominate Chromatics - Night Drive

Robert Johnson - King of the Delta Blues Singers

Cross Road Blues - Good stuff so far! :yy:

Terraplane Blues - Audio quality wasn't the best for this one, but I liked what I could make out.

Come On In My Kitchen - :yy:

Walkin’ Blues - Nice.

Last Fair Deal Gone Down - Like it. :yy:

32-20 Blues - Dark! :zomg:

Kindhearted Woman Blues - Great vocals in this one. :yy:

If I Had Possession Over Judgment Day - Noice. :yy:

Preachin’ Blues (Up Jumped The Devil) - Not bad.

When You Got a Good Friend - Good lyrics. :yy:

Ramblin’ On My Mind - This is 100% the sound and lyrics I associate with the blues.

Stones In My Passway - Alright.

Traveling Riverside Blues - Lewd! :zomg:

Milkcow’s Calf Blues - Okay?

Me and the Devil Blues - Yikes.

Hellhound On My Trail - Some of the last few started to sound a bit samey; not this one, decent track to end on. :yy:

I agree it's a hard one to rate, but I'll give it a go: 7/10. Clearly influential, though some of it hasn't aged well, in more ways than one.

Tally Hall - Marvin's Marvellous Mechanical Museum
Going into this one completely blind. Never heard of the album or band, none of the songs ring a bell.

Good Day - oh this could be very interesting.

Greener - a bit more 'conventional', still good so far

Welcome to Tally Hall - I'm the worst authority on rap there is, but I've heard better.

Taken For A Ride - :yy:

The Bidding - also good, reminded me of this

Be Born - nice enough. Still keeping things fresh

Banana Man - :lolwut:

Just Apathy - alright

Spring and a Storm - quite nice.

Two Wuv - very... stalker-y. But the music's good.

Haiku - yes I was counting the syllables on my fingers. That was pretty funny

The Whole World and You - nice. whimsy.

Ruler of Everything - that went all sorts of places.

Hidden in the Sand - nice.

Yeah that was a pretty good album, might take a further look. 8/10
Tally Hall - Marvin's Marvellous Mechanical Museum

Good Day - The lyrics hurt my brain.

Greener - Good. :yy:

Welcome to Tally Hall - Not for me.

Taken For A Ride
- Bit long.

The Bidding - Okay, now you have my attention. :yy:

Be Born - Clever. :yy:

Banana Man - Sounds a bit racist, TBH. :erm:

Just Apathy - Passable.

Spring and a Storm
- Liked this. :yy:

Two Wuv - Stacy's Mom, Olsen Twins' stalker version? :hmmmm2:

Haiku - Genius. :yy:

The Whole World and You
- Cute. :yy:

13 - Short, simple instrumental.

Ruler of Everything - Wow, that was fun! :yy:

Hidden in the Sand
- Pleasant outro.

7/10. Certainly creative, but a lot of it was too weird for me.
King of the Delta Blues Singers

I wouldn't listen to it again, but it wasn't bad. Not sure how to rate it
Oops, another tied poll. Coin flip says:

Album #160

Stevie Wonder - Songs In The Key Of Life

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/6YUCc2RiXcEKS9ibuZxjt0

Frank Ocean - Blonde will be next, and Paul Simon - Graceland goes on the backlog for a later date.
Songs in the Key of Life

Love’s in Need of Love Today - Still as relevant 45 years later. :yy:

Have a Talk With God - I'm not usually one for overly religious songs, but this was some good funk. :yy:

Village Ghetto Land - Dark.

Contusion - Great instrumental.

Sir Duke - I've definitely heard at least parts of this before. The full song is fantastic. :yy:

I Wish - :ditto: Very fun! :yy:

Knocks Me Off My Feet - Quite the change of tone from I Wish. Lovely. :yy:

Pastime Paradise - I knew Weird Al's Amish Paradise parodied Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise, but didn't realise it went a layer deeper! :zomg:

Summer Soft - :yy: Definitely feeling the lack of summer in this room!

Ordinary Pain - It was just starting to feel a bit long, part way through, but that second half brought me back in!

Isn’t She Lovely? - A classic. :yy:

Joy Inside My Tears - Nice.

Black Man - All the yeses. :yy:

Ngiculela Es Una Historia I Am Singing - Pleasant.

If It’s Magic - Magic. :yy:

As - Another one I've heard before, at least in passing. Not the most memorable of titles, but the song is quality! :yy:

Another Star - Solid ending.

10/10. Makes some of my previous 10/10s look dubious, TBH. :colondollar:
Bit of a mission to get through this one, think it's the longest album we've had yet, but damn. I didn't know so much came from one album and I feel like I should've listened to it much sooner.

I guess the one to compare it to would be Marvin Gaye's What's Going On, but I definitely like this one better. I think 9/10 at least. Or maybe 10. Difficult decision!!
Frank Ocean - Blonde

Nikes - Lyrics are bleh, but I don't mind the sound.

Ivy - Nice sound and nice lyrics! :yy:

Pink + White - Good. :yy:

Be Yourself - Nice message.

Solo - Clever, but a bit too explicit for my tastes.

Skyline To - Nice instrumentals, but again the words don't do it for me.

Self Control - Better. :yy:

Good Guy - Short interlude; liked the first half, but the outro was 90% *****, ******* and ****.

Nights - Nah.

Solo (Reprise) - Also nah.

Pretty Sweet - Almost good.

Facebook Story - Another decent skit.

Close to You - Featuring a sample from Stevie Wonder! No doubt I'd prefer his version. :colondollar:

White Ferrari - Pleasant. :yy:

Seigfried - Very emotional. :yy:

Godspeed - Lovely. :yy:

Futura Free - And after three solid tracks, this it what it ends on? :yucky:

6/10, a real mixed bag.
Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life

Liked it :yy:. A bit long but I'd give this 8/10
Frank Ocean - Blonde

I don't think I enjoyed any of this. 2/10
