Fishmans - 98.12.28 Otokotachi No Wakare

Oh! Slime - The Fishmans! Fun intro to the members, liked the guitar.

Night Cruising - Simple, relaxing. Very interesting vocals. :yy:

What Was That? - It was good, whatever it was! :yy:

Thank You - Banana, melon, banana, melon, banana, melon

A Happy Person - Pleasant.

Unreliable Angel - Fantastic! :yy:

Airplane - Nice.

In The Flight - Bit slow, but I liked the violin part.

Walking In The Rhythm - Really grew on me. :yy:

Smilin' Days, Summer Holiday - Fine.

Melody - Catchy! :yy:

Flickering In the Air - Longer than I'd usually like, but easy to listen to. Especially liked the sounds towards the end. :yy:

Crazy Baby - Not bad.

Long Season - An album within an album, 42 minutes of dreamlike sounds. Far too long for me, but worth one thumb up at least. :yy:

7/10

Yes I sort of gave up on this one halfway through, it just seemed like nice background noise but I didn't like some of the vocal style. 5/10
Since the backlog's running thin, I guess go for The Wall by Pink Floyd?

Added!
The Chirping Crickets

Oh Boy! - surprisingly clear-sounding master for such an old album. The song is pretty nice

Not Fade Away - pretty decent

You've Got Love - sweet I guess

Maybe Baby - similar to previous

It's Too Late - this one I like, having heard it on the Layla album.

Tell Me How - didn't really notice it

That'll Be The Day - that was better

I'm Lookin' For Someone to Love - alright

An Empty Cup (And A Broken Date)* - obligatory slow song, it's ok

Send Me Some Lovin' - this one's better though.

Last Night - meh

Rock Me My Baby - that had the coolest sound. My favourite from the album.

ehhhhh... none of the songs are bad, but as an album it just doesn't do that much. Albums we've done from the 50s just feel more like a collection of similar songs than their own thing. But it's still nice to listen to, so, 6.5/10?
The "Chirping" Crickets

Oh, Boy! - Love this song. :yy:

Not Fade Away - Great use of a cardboard box as an instrument. :yy:

You've Got Love - Nice.

Maybe Baby - No maybes, definitely awesome. :yy:

It's Too Late - Not bad.

Tell Me How - Fine.

That'll Be The Day - A classic. :yy:

I'm Lookin' For Someone To Love - Fun. :yy:

An Empty Cup (And A Broken Date) - Lovely. :yy:

Send Me Some Lovin' - Cute.

Last Night - Underrated. :yy:

Rock Me My Baby - And after a run of slower ballads, something more upbeat to end on. :yy:

8/10
Ramones

Blitzkrieg Bop - I've heard that intro in adverts recently! Very catchy. :yy:

Beat on the Brat - Bit too simplistic.

Judy Is a Punk - Okay?

I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend - Unexpectedly soft and sweet, compared with the last two! But again, a bit repetitive.

Chain Saw - Very interesting pronunciation of the word massacre!

Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue - I'm sensing a pattern with their lyrics. Instrumentals are nice, at least.

I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement - More of the same.

Loudmouth - :ditto:

Havana Affair - This was a bit more interesting. :yy:

Listen to My Heart - Also good. :yy:

53rd & 3rd - Fine.

Let's Dance - Good fun. :yy:

I Don't Wanna Walk Around with You - Alright.

Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World - Strong finish. :yy: Though probably for the best that they toned down the Nazi lyrics!

5/10, didn't get as much out of this as I expected, all a bit samey.
Ramones
Blitzkrieg Pop - a good catchy song but forever ruined by the ads for the electronics retailer.

Beat On The Brat - quite good

Judy Is A Punk - so apparently the lyric is "perhaps they'll die", not "right through the door"

I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend - alright

Chain Saw - alright

Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue - pretty funny

I Don't Wanna Go Down To The Basement - good riff, surprised that there's two songs already that I recognise

Loudmouth - alright

Havana Affair - similar to a few others, but I liked when it got heavier near the end

Listen To My Heart -

53rd and 3rd -

Let's Dance - didn't really have anything to say for these 3

I Don't Wanna Walk Around With You - yeah uh similar?

Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World - yeah, it's nice

Yeah I don't think the punk genre really lends itself well to the album format. Not the first time I've felt that the songs sounded too similar - but then again, they were all quite good. So 6/10

Tell you what, since there's been a few live albums now I'll suggest one that's half-and-half: Wheels of Fire by Cream
The "Chirping" Crickets

I really liked some of these but others were pretty unspectacular. 7/10
The poll is tied, so a coin flip says:

Album #250

Bee Gees - Spirits Having Flown

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/6bddpRTD2imtFdhXqr6MKm

Donna Summer will be next.
Spirits Having Flown

Tragedy - I'm more familiar with Steps' cover, having grown up with it, but the original is great too. :yy:

Too Much Heaven - Those falsettos, though! :yy:

Love You Inside Out - Decent. :yy:

Reaching Out - Lovely. :yy:

Spirits (Having Flown) - Different, but very nice. :yy:

Search, Find - Fantastic chorus. :yy:

Stop (Think Again) - Awesome saxophone. :yy:

Living Together - Also brilliant. :yy:

I'm Satisfied - Satisfactory.

Until - Short, sweet finish. :yy:

9/10, not quite up there with my favourite albums from this thread, but incredibly good.

Whoops. Forgot to rate the Bee Gees. Tragedy and the title track were highlights - 7.5/10
Donna Summer - Bad Girls

Hot Stuff - An undisputed classic. :yy: Great guitar solo, too!

Bad Girls - Bit too much 'toot toot, beep beep' for me.

Love Will Always Find You - Solid. :yy:

Walk Away - Alright.

Dim All the Lights - Sweet. :yy:

Journey to the Centre of Your Heart - Very catchy, and a great intro. :yy:

One Night in a Lifetime - Decent.

Can’t Get to Sleep at Night - Very good. :yy:

On My Honor - Slower ballad, a nice change of pace. :yy:

There Will Always Be a You - Possibly my favourite so far. :yy:

All Through the Night - Presumably Side 3 is the slow ballad side? Nice, but a little too long.

My Baby Understands - Didn't leave much of an impression.

Our Love - Back to the more energetic tracks! Think this one would be better on the dance floor.

Lucky - What's with the fart sounds? Too distracting for me to appreciate the rest of the track. :colondollar:

Sunset People - Okay.

7/10
Hmmm yeah 7/10 for Bad Girls. Didn't finish it - very long - but enjoyed what I listened to. And now I know who did Hot Stuff!
Added Santana - Caravanserai to the backlog.
