Bristol Freshers Week

Hi Guys

Just wondering when the Bristol freshers week starts in 2011?
It says on UCAS that the uni starts on the 1st October, but I've heard that Freshers is the week before? (i.e. week 0)

Your freshers week will be 3-9th october which is week zero. The term dates are all on there:

How does it look like in practice? My Uni doesn't have the same tradition. I assume it's just a massive amount of parties going on for a week? :biggrin:

each hall arranges things slightly differently on each night, but they all go to the freshers party, BARMY and freshers ball for example.

Good to know I'll spend my first week there smashed 24/7. Not a bad way to kick things off. Well provided I know anyone by then, that is. :biggrin:

It's basically just a fortnight where there's loads and loads of great club nights, parties, balls etc. going on constantly with no real work to speak of. It's where the new guys learn how to get drunk, fall down flights of stairs and sleep with each other, and where the reps get to watch, laugh and carry them home at the end of the night.

most people go to the party, because it's cheap and all the halls have a different fancy dress.
as for the ball, most people usually don't know right now- if your flat / course mates go, you probably will. if they're not too fussed, you'll end up doing something else that night :smile:
