I wouldnt say UEA was in the middle of nowhere, it's on the outskirts of Norwich, less than an hours walk from the city centre, much quicker by bus/cycle, which is closer than some campus unis. Norwich is a medium sized city, my cousin goes there and says the student life there is pretty good.
I'm in the Midlands though, so even further on. Kents a four hour drive (with the current roadworks anyway), and I can get to UEA in under 2 hours Nearest would be London but I just don't want to go there
What kind of actuarial work does your mum tend to do? I'm more interested in investment currently, but I obviously don't need to specialise just yet
Oh yeah! The other 4 i've applied to are all within 1.5 hours on the train to me (leeds, sheffield, liverpool, lancaster) so thats not too bad No i dont want to go to london, no matter how much I love it! hehe
Ooh cool, no she doesnt do that. She works for aviva so insurances and the like

Oh i don't know about UEA, I was more talking about Heriot-watt......
Over a week ago I got a letter in the post from Lancaster asking me to attend a visit day which will probably ultimately mean I get an offer, but one hasn't come yet... Does anyone else have an idea when I may be getting an offer? Or is anyone in the same situation?

Maybe you have to visit then you get an offer? :/ I haven't even been acknowledged by them. LOL.

It took about a month for UCAS to update, maybe 3 weeks at best for me.
My interview was on monday (the 5th). I thought it went ok, the first one not so great, but the second one a bit better. Its hard to say though whether I was good enough.
Thought I'd share with you all a question which my teacher described as his favourite in our TMA (teacher marked assessment - basically formal marked homework) booklet.

I assumed there would be some neat way to find the integral that I hadn't noticed, and that I wouldn't "get the joke" if I just expanded the top and used algebraic division. But yeah - it's quite good :P

well it started well when I was told that they are interviewing less this year than any other year lol. Then I feel like my interviews went well but im apprehensive to say that. They kinda followed a pattern of easy questions to harder ones and the prompts increased. The last question in my second interview required quite a few hints but i got there eventually. Saying that, I would not be surprised if i was rejected lol. Oh and the people were SOOO nice.

When will imperial start giving offers to many people? Does anyone know something based on last year's dates?
They've already started for G100. I got my offer on 14th November and a few other people at school also have offers (about half of all the people who applied for maths).
