I looked into greenwich aswell and tharts going to be one of my choices but I didn't really like Kingston :/ I live in kent at the moment and I'm looking for places under 3 half hours away but gonna apply to ones nearer just incase I think my order of perference at the moment is BG, Gloucester, Oxford Brookes, then probably Nottingham Trent and Greenwich
What kind of grades are these uni's asking for primary education
For Undergraduate Primary Education courses:
Newman College, Birmingham - 300 points (BBB/CCCD) Sheffield Hallam University - 300 points (BBB/CCCD) City University, Birmingham - BBB Derby University - BBB Trent University - BBC OxBrooks University - BBC Greenwich University - BBC Middlesex University - BCC Kingston University - CCC BG College, Lincoln - 220 points (CCD/DDDE)
Most of these universities/colleges require the standard GCSE requirement of 5 C's to include Maths, English and Science.

Yeah that's what I was looking for, places close-ish to home so I could travel back when I want! I'd like to go Greenwich, but they're asking for 300 ucas points, which I personally do not think I'll be getting!
OH, if we're starting September 2013, we have to do our QTS Skills Tests before we start don't we? It's one of the government changes to applying...so we'll have to sit our Maths and English tests between this September and the following!
Hi. I start at edge hill this sept studying early years with qts. Edge hill have an open day on sun next week, check out their website. If you want any info on the interview for edge hill just let me know i think the primary interview was similar to early years one.

Yeah normally you'd do your QTS tests at the end of your course...but they're changing it now so we have to do them before we even start the course! So effectively, anytime from September onwards!

Same, Maths is definitely not my strongest! It's quite hard for me personally, I had a quick look at some of the practice tests. There's GCSE stuff like percentages, fractions, charts etc... Booo!

It depends what uni you go to, but tests happen all the way through. In some English uni's you get a QTS test at the end and if you fail it then you don't get QTS basically.
I'm at Newport and we have 'Key Skills' assignments each year - maths, english, ICT. During the years we also have to do maths and english audits, which aren't too bad.
I'd say look at Newport, even if you're not interested in it, just to look at the structure of how it is run.
