Well put. Simeone is an amazing coach. I hope he stays at Atletico but I think an elite club will come in for him. If I were on the Barcelona board I'd look to get him in to replace Martino.
Simeone is a true cholchonero. He wouldn't go to Barça.
Yeah, I am just thinking tbh, how good they'd be if they still had Falcao. Jeez, they'd be out of the world good.
I can imagine he has a brother back in Argentine that runs a drug cartel for him, distributing cocaine from Buenos Aires to San Juan. I'd go further. Probably has a few brothels under his belt too. Not just in Argentina. All over South America. I'm talking about international pimping, from Colombia to Uruguay to Brazil. Nobody can touch him.
As for his management? I dunno. Falcao is a big loss but doesn't fit into the Mafia set up as well as Costa does. You just know that before every game Simeone just snorts a few lines of cocaine and tells Costa to "run around and break a leg" and Costa just nods with approval. He's heartless. A proper goon.

Would love to see the look of those Chelsea fans faces who thought atletico would be an easy opponent. (Not saying that was anyone on TSR)
I think that the general feeling in England was that Atlético was an easy opponent(although only one or two fans here thought they were easy). Obviously we'd back our team as we are very good but Simeone's side is basically a better set up version of us that are slower on the counter attack.
Wow! Atletico were exceptional! Brilliant team, fantastic manager and the fans were excellent yesterday. Atletico didn't let the opening goal get them down, the belief they have is tremendous. They could have sat back on the 1-1 but went forward and killed the game.
Mourinho's substitution, bring on Eto'o influenced the game- tactical genius!
That is the first time Mourinho has lost two home games in a row, both inflicted by teams in red and white stripes!
For all the hate La Liga gets, 3/4 finalists in Europe are Spanish. La Real flopped this season but other then them Spanish sides have only been eliminated by other Spanish teams. Even relegated Betis were in the QF's!
2nd all Spanish final, 1st time both finalists are from the same City. I hope the result is a repeat of their last cup final meeting!
I hope Simeone stays at Atletico and builds a legacy.
I don't think that's possible, unfortunately. The club has only remained afloat because of tax concessions made by the government. They have an incredible crop of players at the moment but the financial predicament means Atletico is a selling club and will be for a long time to come.

And because of third party agreements they only manage to coup 50% of the transfer fee when selling (Aguero, Falcao, and in the future Costa). I don't know how long they will last either, ~£500M to creditors and tax authorities is a lot of money and will probably take longer than a decade to pay off
Seems like Luis Enrique is almost certain to become Martino's successor at Barça; most Catalan and Spanish papers reporting it and now Celta's Lolito has dropped a hint as well. Would be the obvious and not a bad choice, really, albeit a bit risky. Much like Pep's appointment in 2008. TV3 are reporting that Puyol could be part of the coaching staff under him...
On another note, Valencia already 2-0 up against Sevilla. Very intense game by them, but then Sevilla only need one goal to more or less seal the tie.
