Britain is a multi cultural and compassionate nation.

Don't confuse Labour opening the floodgates, with British people liking multiculturalism.

Again I will ask, name me the benefits to multiculturalism? Here are the disadvantages:

-Female Genital Mutilation
-Child marriages
-Honour killings
-Replacing British culture

What are your advantages?

(and I mean proper ones, not airy-fairy "its good to learn about other people's cultures". Thats what travelling is for)

I'm left win and proudly British. Why? Britain is a multi cultural and compassionate nation. However this is not the kind of "British" that most right wingers want to see.

Get educated about what your country really is

No I just don't see the point paying for a subscription- I don't read the news enough to warrant bother paying for it.

You don't bother reading about the financial markets whose success or failure:

a) Carries with them the success or otherwise of your political creed; and

b) Determines the value of your pension and the cost of your mortgage.

Just wow.

You're so original.

and I was intending to break the mould? I read the Daily Mail for 3-4 years, I know what's wrong with it.

Well you could take the view of Popa Pork.......which is to be against those who are doing their best to import as many people as possible who'd like nothing better than to have you ostrcised at best - stoned to death at worst - for your sexuality.

Areas with a lot of these people are dangerous for people like you ya know........

er…and you suppose that the Right is really going to be the best party to ask not to deport me, huh? So much facepalm

and also, I hope you're not trying to threaten or emotionally blackmail me.

Where did I say I don't follow the markets? I said I don't read the news.

Well you clearly don't follow them very closely if you don't even read the FT. Unless you pony up for the RBR, but I believe that's several grand a month.

Extreme. But most are juvenile and bitter, Tony Benn was the epitome of this type of politics

I think most of the general public are fine with it, but I don't think the Conservative party want to be stuck with the blame of breaking up the United Kingdom.

Since the conservatives are pretty much a constant and it's the people of England that voted them in, it's fair to say that, given that people know what the conservatives want then if they then vote for them then the general public are responsible. You can't just shrug off your responsibility onto the Conservatives. People know what they are like and they still voted for them. You reap what you sow.

And, if the general public are fine with it then why don't they say so? Have they lost their voice?

What? People voted for the Conservatives because they didn't want an SNP backed Labour government which many people believe would be worse for the UK than a Tory government. The independence is a seperate issue, they had one referendum and said no to leaving.

I see the OP has cited the Daily Heil. A newspaper that praised Hitler and who viciously attacked Ralph Miliband (father of David and Ed), a man who fought for Britain against the Nazis after fleeing from persecution in Belgium.

Because..... as I illustrated, the BBC prefer to suppress such stories....

As a centre-right person who criticises both those on the left and those on the right - it's been my experience that those on the left are much more willing to engage in debate than those on the right. The only person who has told on TSR me to go **** myself and called me a ****ing **** has been a UKIP supporter

Well said, followed and PRSOM

I abhor the kind of angry, tribal politics we see on both sides (I consider myself a Burkean socialist, if that makes any sense). Why do people have to be so sweary and personally abusive these days?

Did "people" vote for that? I mean, about 25% of people voted for the conservatives. It's not exactly a landslide of a mandate

Well, they tactical voted, which is a cancer to British politics and needs to go by getting rid of FPTP.

Ugh... Just check the election 2015 tab on the bbc website - it's on there

Why can't you seem to do a bit of research before you spurt rubbish like this?

Haha cheers (huh? PRSOM? No idea  ...)

Aha wow; I must admit I know next to nothing about Burke but I thought the idea of a Burkean socialist was impossible?! I'd be grateful for some insight into this - you can just send a couple of links my way if it'd take too long to type out

I don't understand how multiculturalism causes these things. They existed way before the different cultures even knew about each other.

And before we get too high and mighty about our country, lets point out that we:
1) Like Iran, refuse weapons inspectors to inspect our nuclear facilities,
2) We are (or until recently were) the only country in Europe exporting nuclear warheads,
3) One third of all mechanical manufacture in the UK is weapons for war,
4) We illegally hold prisoners to be transferred to Guantanamo Bay against the Geneva Convention,
5) Where I live in Glasgow there is a high trafficking problem in humans and a healthy sex trade in children. This is reflected throughout the UK,
6) We arm the worlds hostile areas, wait for them to kill each other for us, then waltz in pretending to be the peacemakers and saviors,
7) The UK is a hub, if not THE hub, of death merchants in the world. There is not one Middle East conflict that the West don't have a direct responsibility in creating or fueling, one way or the other,
8) We went into Iraq to save the Iraqis from Sadam from weapons of mass destruction, yet the only WMDs found in the country were the ones we dropped on the civilians. The total number of civilians we killed "saving" them, was more than Sadam ever killed,
9) Wherever we go we spread death, destruction and rape the planet so that no life will survive,
10) And at the same time glow in our arrogance at how wonderful we are lol. Even God cannot save us and Hell is too good for us.
