Is King's College London conservative?

Poll

What is the political atmosphere of King's College London?

Hello, I am an American student and I will be applying to KCL for International Relations for 2016 entry. I am wondering what the atmosphere of the student body is. Does it tend to be more right-wing and conservative, left-wing and more liberal, or somewhere in the middle? I am decently far left and just wondering how I would fit in. Thanks!

I'm a big fan of Bernie Sanders, who is similar to Jeremy Corbyn but less radical so I suppose so.

I guess I shouldn't have used the term 'far-left'.

Hello, could you please, for your own sexual pleasure, stop being so uptight and repressed?

It is sad to think about. Thanks

Ah ok. im also applying to Kings, but i think most people will be middle/right as there are lots of international students at Kings I think, and most of them are quite well off i would suspect. Central London is also Tory territory i think. Anyway from my experices in Uk politics at school, its generally the lefties (no offence) that are the most hostile, while the right are quite relaxed. So you should be fine, just stay away from the anarchists, they're a bit crazy ( again no offence to anyone)

A right wing person saying 'the lefties are the most hostile and the right are relaxed' doesnt sound very convincing

also calling people a bit crazy and then saying 'no offence' is not going to work

I agree, a lot of my friends are anarchists and they can be hostile to people they're unfamiliar with. Thanks for this information though, I might have to take a second look at KCL. I'm not too keen on being surrounded by Tories for 3 years.

I'm sure plenty of American unis accept A levels since a large number of students from the UK come to the US to study each year. If you're interested in New York look at New York University (NYU).

I can't tell if you're trolling (because of the Trump comment) or are genuinely serious (I hope not).

As you're American, I'd say that KCL is a communist university.

I understand what you mean, but we're not all Bible-thumping brainwashed morons. The US has a very wide political spectrum, it's just the crazy right-wingers that make the most noise!

Definitely not, I would argue that you will see people more so on the left and centre than on the right at KCL.
