Technically yes, but practically a U would be better, as I think it doesn't count as a grade and you don't have to declare it on UCAS. In which case it's like you haven't taken the subject-which is better than an F.

I think, as you were a registered student on that course, you have have to declare a U, as it is the equivalent of an F.
