It is narrated that once Hasan al-Basri رحمه الله passed the whole night reciting:

*وَإِن تَعُدُّوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا
...And if you count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them...
[Surah Ibraheem, ayah 34]

When asked about it, he said there is admonition and warning in it; whichever side we look, we see some or the other bounty of Allah.

[Studying the Glorious Quran by Abu Hasan Ali Nadwi رحمه الله]

SubhaanAllah. This is the true sight with which we are to see the Qur'an, the true mindset with with we are to approach it, the true state that our hearts should be in when receiving and contemplating the words of Allah 'azza wa jall, the true connection that the dhikr of our tongues should have with the dhikr of our hearts, the true depth of reflection that we should invest into the Qur'an as we recite it.
"I found myself in trouble, and so I made Du’aa consistently, all the while requesting relief and comfort. The response to my Du’aa seemed to be delayed, and so my soul became disturbed and worried. However, I rebuked it saying, “Woe unto you; look attentively at yourself, are you the one possessed or are you the possessor? Are you the one that is controlled or are you the controller? Are you not aware that this world is the abode of tests for you?"

- Ibn Al-Jawzee (rahimahullah)
It is reported that Ibrahim ibn Adham (may Allah have mercy on him) once passed through the market of Basrah. People gathered around him and asked: O Abû Ishâq, Allâh the Exalted says in his Book. ‘Call on me, I will answer your prayers’, but we have been calling on Him for a long time and He does not answer our prayers.

(Ibrahim) replied, “O people of Basrah, your hearts have died in respect to ten things:

First, you know Allâh but you do not give Him His rights; Second, you have read Allâh’s Book but you do not act by it; Third, you claim to love Allâh’s Messenger Allâh’s peace and blessings be upon him yet you abandon his Sunnah; Fourth, you claim to be enemies to Shaytân but you conform to [his ways]; Fifth, you say you love Paradise yet you do not work for it; Sixth, you say you fear The Fire yet you put yourselves closer to it [by sinning]; Seventh, you say death is true but you do not prepare for it; Eighth, you busy yourselves with the faults of others and disregard your own; Ninth, you consume the favors of your Lord but are not grateful for them; and Tenth, you bury your dead but take no lesson from them.”

(Abu Nu’aym, Hilyah Al-Awliya’ 8: 15, 16.)

Wa alaykum assalaam brother. Aameen, may He resolve our difficulties and make us of those who are successful in the dunya and the Aakhirah through His guidance, those who despite sometimes being busy with the dunya are able to prioritise with matters of the Aakhirah above them, those who remember He who is in the heavens, the Lord of creation, when beginning each task, in sickness and good health, in poverty and affluence, in happiness and during calamity.

Ameen. Your duas are back Alhamdulillah

It will happen Insha Allah.

If people aren't approaching you, you've got to be the one to make the first move.
Start it off with small talk. It could be anything. You could ask a question or talk about a lesson you just had. You don't need to have amazing communication skills.
Then at the end you can ask if they wanna grab lunch or something.

Your A levels are only two years. Time will fly, and when you're in uni you'll probably lose contact with most people at college and meet new ones in uni.
Imo uni is the better place to make friends. There's more diversity so you're bound to find someone with similar interests. Plus there's so many societies and clubs to join.

Have more confidence in yourself!

I try to look for people sitting themselves but it does seem rare. Sometimes i do see girls sitting themsevles, hijabis too but i dont know if it'd be innappropriate and they'd embarass me.

Walaykum asalaam. Ameen.

Good that you're staying away from bad company. I think in general college isn't the place where a lot of people make freinds. After college do you attend any clubs?

I didn't have much company in school so I was hoping college would be a little better at least but is isnt. No i dont,i actually hate being off college because that's my only reason to go out the house. I'm at an awkward age to start things myself i feel, 18.

Does anyone know if saying "jumuah mubarak" has any basis in the sunnah? I checked online and some sites say it's bid'ah, so just want to be sure. BarakAllahu feekum.

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khduri that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on Friday, he will be illuminated with light between the two Fridays.” Narrated by al-Haakim; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Targheeb, 836

I don't think such videos benefit us brother, nor such questions nor such answer.
And I respectfully disagree.
