Why was the Cold War Inevitable?

Notebaly, for years it has been argued by historians that the cold war was inevaitbale, in that it was ceratin to happen. Why? Points that are worth mentioning may include;

1. The distincitive differences in the ideoligies between the US and the USSR; They had such diamtric opposed systems of governememt, that between them tenisons would rise and would ultimately lead to the startings of the Cold War.

2. The nature of the Grand Alliance during WWII, that being that they only grouped together on the basis of a mutual hate for facism wasn't enough reason , nor was it was strong enough for the leading superpowers to work collectivley to restore peacful relations and to help rebuild a broken world following the catastrophic war that ended in 1949.

3. Persoanlities: Stalin has an aggressive personality and if riled could be danergous.

Are there anymore points that could be discussed as to why the cold war has been argued to be inevitable and are there any reliable facts or events that can back up the points that have been made?

I think what you have written here is a fantastic starting point. (Though WW2 ended in 1945 :mmm:).

Perhaps their stances on nuclear weapons?

In regrads to their stances on nuclear weapons, that being that they were in an arms race with one another, one couldn't not build a defence based on nuclear arms incase the other attacked. Can you uhelp in thinking of any particular examples I could use to back up/support this point in the essay?

If indeed it was inevitable, consider at which point it became so.
