A very mature response to facts and likely, devastating effects of Brexit. But I don't expect much anymore from Brexiteers at this point, everyone can see how wrong, irresponsible, and economically illiterate they are.

Yes, you are, since Brexit hasn't actually happened yet. But even without that having happened yet, Sterling is heavily down, inflation is rampant, growth is the worst in the developed world, business confidence is down, your only industry of relevance is leaving, NHS on the bring of collapse and huge skills gap because foreigners are leaving... so yeah, you're really pretty much ****ed.

Youve failed to read my post correctly.....those events were supposed to be triggered by the mere referendum result!

That has happened. And the rest has not.

- Sterling is not heavily down year on year in comparison with the $. So please check your source before making a complete ninny of yourself here

-NHS collapse was happening well before Brexit. Dont confuse correlation with causation.

- Conflicting reports but it could be argued either way that the majority of EU migrants are unskilled, depending on the 'skilled' classification. Regardless, operating a points-based system would also allow us to increase skilled labour, whilst limiting unskilled migrants.

- The term 'business confidence' has been spurious for a long while. The major financial institutions were supposed to be implementing plans the move their operations out of the UK once Article 50 was triggered werent they? Im yet to see the removal vans in Canary Wharf so I will take that one with a pinch of salt.

Which is fine.

The thing is, we're ****ed but will be out and free to rebuild as a FREE NATION.

You on the other hand remain ****ed in the EU and will continue to have to assume the position and be rodgered for years and years until the EU ruthlessly establishes its totalitarian regime, at which point it's game over for you, no way out, no realistic way to ever leave the EU.

I look at the pitiful state of Germany at the moment and understand completely your frustration and constant envy of the UK having the balls and strength to stand up to the corrupt EU cesspit and walk away.

You failed to use logic. Anything and everything that was supposed to be triggered by the referendum has happened - and more. The rest has not happened since Brexit has not happened. Please go ahead and prove that it will not happen after Brexit! All evidence points into the opposite direction!

Have you ever heard of a major currency called the EURO, that most countries in the huge trading bloc that you're about to leave use? I encourage you to look at how the exchange rate has changed versus that currency, and then hang your head in shame and STFU.

Original post by OldTimer30

-NHS collapse was happening well before Brexit. Dont confuse correlation with causation.

So you are denying that the NHS is in much, much bigger trouble now because of EU nationals leaving in droves than it was before the referendum? Typical ignorant Brexiteer. Yes, you have a *****y health care system that can't even cope with a few people having flu, but Brexit will finish it off.

Original post by OldTimer30

- Conflicting reports but it could be argued either way that the majority of EU migrants are unskilled, depending on the 'skilled' classification. Regardless, operating a points-based system would also allow us to increase skilled labour, whilst limiting unskilled migrants.

No, there aren't conflicting reports, you just have no idea what you're talking about and you're objectively and factually wrong.

Your entire economy, across all skill and qualifications levels, is heavily reliant on EU nationals.

Preventing businesses from hiring cheap east European labor will kill their margins or even finish them off because they can't find enough Brits willing to do the work at all.

You think removal vans will show up when banks relocate people? Just how naive are you? Read through my past threads and you will see many, many news items of financial institutions moving jobs out of the UK, renting office space in Frankfurt, Paris, and Dublin, and hiring local people.

But go on, cover your eyes and ears, and pretend Brexit is not already having a hugely negative effect on Britain, something that all experts agree on (in the absence or presence of undeniable facts listed in my previous post, many of which you failed to respond to - but we know why).

Yup, an impoverished, isolated free nation that is the laughing stock of Europe. And that is indeed fine.

Why would we ever want to leave? The EU is a great idea, and thriving (unlike Britain).

Ruthlessly establish its totalitarian regime? Will EU tanks roll through the streets of Berlin and Paris? Just how deluded are you?

Pitiful? You mean outperforming and outgrowing you in every economic metric possible?

Envy? You mean how glee, seeing you lot being slapped around by Barnier at the negotiation table like the minnows that you are? How your economy, currency, stock market is faltering?
There are so many things wrong with your last post, I havent got the time to waste in pointing them out.

However:

'Hasnt happened yet, BUT IT WILL!'
'You will see xyz.....'
'Brexit will finish it off'

We heard this during project fear. None of it came true.

UK growth -1.8%.
It was forecast by these 'experts' at 0.7/0.4 etc etc. A monkey with a laptop couldve been more accurate.

Migration is actually up in the last 6 months by 116k....so unless the exodus youre talking about it from EU countries into the UK, youre factually incorrect. again.

Lastly, your vitriolic responses just show how flawed your understanding of this situation is. If you had the sense to actually comprehend, rather than just copy-paste any articles which subscribe to your views, you might be slightly more gracious and willing to discuss the issues like an adult.

You're right - I am new to these threads. But I've seen them pop up a lot in this forum despite not actually reading or replying to them. I just don't get why you keep making these threads...most people have accepted the result by now. I didn't mean to suggest you were trying to reverse Brexit but it seems like you're struggling to accept the result regardless; why else would you repeatedly call it an "idiotic mistake"?

I love how some Remainers seem to categorise all Brexiteers as racist, xenophobic, etc. Before you ask me whether I voted Brexit, I didn't because I'm currently not at voting age. But it still grates me how all Brexiteers are grouped together as "racist" or whatever, or grouped together as irresponsible because of a vote they made in the referendum. Some Brexiteers probably are racist, and I can't deny that...but it seems irresponsible of you to continuously refer to Brexit as idiotic and categorise all Brexiteers as irresponsible.

Why can I not accept the result of the referendum, consider it a massive mistake, and not make the attempt to change/reverse it? Those are not the least bit mutually exclusive.

You also need to consider that I am neither British nor living in Britain. I'm really just an independent observer who enjoys seeing Britain going up in flames after this idiotic, nationalistic decision. If it changes the minds of a few folks on this forum about Brexit or nationalism in general, even better.

No - all Bexiteers are indeed irresponsible. There are only two types of people who voted Leave: xenophobes, and economic illiterates (sprinkled with a healthy dose of nationalism) who actually think Britain could be better off outside the massive, thriving trading bloc right on its door-step. Both rationales are highly problematic.

I know you're not living in Britain because you told me yesterday. It's obvious you're German considering your username. It's just that you seem more butthurt over the result than any Remoaner I've known/seen on this site, which is saying something! I'm not going to attempt to reason with you about anything because you'll just spurt something similar to your OP so I'm off. You won't be seeing me in these threads again. Ta-ra!

Look, old man, it's basic logic.

Everything that was forecast for the time between the referendum and the actual Brexit has come true. This is a valid indicator that everything which is forecast for after the actual Brexit will also come true.

Again: your economy is in tatters, currency and stock market heavily down, inflation sky-high, reputation damaged, business confidence low, your only industry of relevance about to pack up, NHS failing due to the Europeans that keep it alive leaving... what in the name of God makes you nutter believe it'll get any better after you lot actually leave the EU?

Original post by OldTimer30

UK growth -1.8%.

Where was it before the referendum? Didn't you lot go from the fastest growing major nation in Europe to the SLOWEST growing in the G7? Wasn't the forecast for the next years just slashed once again (by a Tory government who of course wants to paint a rosier picture)?

Original post by OldTimer30

Migration is actually up in the last 6 months by 116k....so unless the exodus youre talking about it from EU countries into the UK, youre factually incorrect. again.

If you did your research, you would know that this mainly immigration from skilled non-EU individuals to replace the Europeans that are leaving (https://www.ft.com/content/f9cea29e-05e8-11e8-9650-9c0ad2d7c5b5), and that net migration between EU and UK is indeed at its lowest level EVER (https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/nov/30/net-migration-to-uk-shows-largest-annual-fall-since-records-began).

And of course you are not looking at the big picture - what's the net migration number since the referendum, eh? Oh, right, you're wrong, I'm right. Again.

Also, why don't you actually read the news items I link to? Check out the one on how the already-bad skills gap will widen after Brexit. Your economy is absolutely screwed without foreigners.

Once again, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

You would need to make at least one valid argument first, you know, like an adult. You are clearly poorly educated and have poor knowledge of economic and political metrics and events and how they are connected. Do your homework, maybe you won't get destroyed as badly next time around.

Im afraid the valid arguments are lost on you!! Especially if you put The Guardian as one of your valued sources!

I suggest you look at the attachment, look at what EU15 means, realise that this is the most up to date, concrete figures we have and place your most recent forecast alongside all the other forecasts that youve mentioned, neatly in a box labelled:

'DIDNT HAPPEN'

This will be my last input on this thread as ultimately, no matter how many times you attempt to turn someones lights on, you must eventually accept that they havent got the currency to pay the bill.
