I’m applying for accommodation and I’m studying paramedic science, how many weeks will I need in accommodation due to being on placement in the summer?
I had the same dilemma. The students said go for the lowest contract length so you don't waste money. If needed you can extend the week.

Thanks for your question @emgrace140197, I'll contact the accommodation team and let you know!

Thanks,

Hi again,

I've heard back from our accommodation team and they let me know that you'll need to check your exact course dates with your School, and then pick the contract that matches most closely. Most paramedics choose a 50 week contract but it will be up to you to choose the right length for your studies.

Hope that helps.
Do you have any recommendations for accommodation options for masters student, looking for fairly cheap and quiet? I see Telford has quiet option available but wondering how quiet it would compare to the Townhouse option?I understand onsite accommodation is going to come with some noise and socialising which I'm not against, but looking for the quiet option just in case. Also, do all rooms have an ethernet port? Cheers

Hi @bearhiccups,

We have quiet areas in various accommodation types. The best thing to do would be when you make your application choose the room type you want and then tick the quiet box. We will then try to find you a quieter area within that room type.

I believe all rooms do have ethernet points but once you've chosen your preferred room you can check by emailing [email protected] for College
Lane and [email protected] for de Havilland.

Thanks,
Heather
how much is the deposit for accomodation?

Hi @marcia2000,

The deposit for all types of accommodation is £150, you can find out more about it here - https://www.herts.ac.uk/life/student-accommodation/deposit

If you've got any other questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Heather
Thank you!
Hey! I applied for accommodation with a group application. I was wondering if putting twin room as my first and second preference, would it guarantee us being together?

Do group applications take longer to receive an offer?

Thank you!
