Sorry to hear this, surely your friend is going to get credit at some point, make sure you’ve got each others phone numbers. I mean it may seem old fashioned ( and is I suppose), but maybe try writing letters to each other. If she isn’t moving too far, maybe arrange to meet up.

Just ask to download whatsapp on your phone, explain it is to message your friend. Your mum should be fine with it

I was allowed that at 13. You can only message people you have in your contacts (who you have the phone number for). It's like normal texting and calling but for free
