As the date gets closer for my move in date I've been wondering how often uni students living in halls would make breakfast? If it is quite often i would consider making breakfast in the mornings more of a routine to help me get to know my flatmates
Most of my flatmates made breakfast but I can't say it was ever a social occasion. People have very different schedules and most aren't really up for any meaningful conversation first thing in the morning.
I'd focus on socialising at dinner time if you had to pick a meal time to socialise. There's more likely to be other people cooking or eating at the same time and cooking for each other makes more sense.
Breakfast is probably not the best meal to judge. You get people having early lectures, people having late lectures, people that get up early people that don't. I would say the best meal potentially for everybody to get together would be the evening meal. When I was at uni Breakfast was one of those take it or leave it meals. I quite often would suffice with just a cup of coffee ☕.

Thank you for both of your responses! That makes complete sense and I realise that now. I'm looking foward to meeting my flatmates and will definitely choose evening meal time to socialise and get to know them.

Sensible. I hope all goes well for you, with your chosen degree. What uni are you hoping to attend? What subject? Xx

Thank you! I'll be attending Birmingham City University. Living on campus starting 4th September and studying English Literature with my course starting on 21st September.

Well remembered, running well although thinking of trading it in for another one, cant really decide at the moment, although could be tempted by the very good deals around at the moment. X
That's true. I think i would like to make simple breakfasts if any such as cereal like you said or even just a cup of tea with some toast or biscuits
I'd be aware that you will probably need to bring a toaster if you want to make toast, most halls (or even private apartments) won't come with one. You could do fried or grilled bread but that's not as convenient.

I'll keep that in mind. Although the website says the kitchens do come with toasters. It wouldn't be too much of a problem if they didn't have one since i do have my own that i could bring
