Is it impossible to take a car to Bath?

Before anyone starts, I know the rule is a thing but in practice, is there anyway you can?

I need to be able to get to a village in the vague direction of Bristol (I'm not going to give any more details on location than that for what I assume are obvious reasons) which isn't on public transport routes, a fair number of days, the closest I can get by bus is the Lansdown P&R and that isn't really close so I can only drive.

Am I just s**t out of luck or is there a way I can do it?

You can have a car in Bath, it is just quite expensive. Some friends of mine rented driveways in Bath so they could bring their cars, but this is obviously a bit expensive on top of paying rent, bus passes/tickets, socialising, food and the other costs of a car such as fuel and insurance. If money isn't an issue, then this is definitely worth looking into

You can't get accommodation on campus really - they only really give them out to students with genuine medical reasons, but even then disabled students struggle to get parking spaces since there are very few spaces for all the staff on campus, let alone students.

Thanks! Good to know there are some options, money isn't not an issue but I don't have a choice in getting to where I need to so, if sacrifices have to be made elsewhere then so be it!
