Unit 4 Access Course Stonebridge

Hi!
I am struggling with Unit 4 as it asks to write a plan for an academic report, I think I am over thinking it!!
Do I need to include:
-title page
-terms of reference
-contents page
-research methodology
-findings
-conclusion
-recommendations
-references
-bibliography
-appendices
within my plan as this is what it says a layout for a academic report is?

AHHHH help please

Hi! Yes you do BUT you do not have to go into detail!
For example, I have put for one day:

05.00am Light reading of study materials and assignment (1st round)

07.00am –Wake Jayden up and get ready for school.

08.30am School run

09.00am Housework

10.00am Deep reading of study materials. Write notes (Basic Cell structure).
Start listing references.

Diagram of a basic cell and types of living cells (prokaryotes and eukaryotes).

12pm- Terms of Reference (word count: 150 words max)

1.30pm End of study session.

I hope this helps. Adding personal stuff such as housework etc made it even easier for me, definitely more realistic!
I sent the draft and the unit was achieved with no modifications

Hi Laura, just came across this thanks for sharing your example. I'm also working on this at the moment.

The brief is saying we have to write 4000 words in 10 days right? I'm finding it hard to imagine I would only have 10 days and so I'm squashing things in my planner, does this sound right?

Did u do submit it in the attached timetable already provided? I'm getting so frustrated with this unit now.
Do u have to do the drafts for unit 5 in the assignment plan? And finish it with the paper being finished by end of the plan. I'm so confused!!!

I'm trying to work on this unit now as well, I have been sat here all day and have nothing to show for it :frown:
This is a time management planning exercise.
They want to see a full timetable of your day and when you intend to study and what you are going to do during that time.
Print out the questions for unit 5 - this will help you.
It actually stipulates in the Unit 4 question that you are not drafting the Unit 5 assignment in the notes section.
Remember actual dates... You have 10 days. Use actual dates not just Day 1, Day 2.
Remember to include school drop offs, meals, breaks, housework etc etc.
I planned mine on excel and included everything so intro, conclusions, word limits for each element so setion 2 x is 150 words, y is 150 words conclusion is ??? words
I would upload my file to help, but mine is so indepth it maybe confusing as its set out how I like to work and process things.

Sounds like a great idea I’m constantly on this searching for help, be great to have other doing the same so we can feel
More in a class room and help each other.
Am currently in Unit4, my assignment was returned ungraded.
Am interested in exchanging ideas.
I used excel but this is advice from my Tutor
I need help with MS word document&nbs, a timetable that is broken down into days and weeks, and
not just weeks.
we can exchange ideas

Tutor's advice
"For the unit assignment you will need to produce an assignment plan.We recommend that
you use the 'The Timetable Approach to Assignment Planning' to complete this task. Set
up an MS word document (or similar) with a timetable format in readiness to
complete your assignment. Use a timetable that is broken down into days and weeks, and
not just weeks. Write a list of all of the elements that you are going to need to complete in
order to write the assignment. You then add these to your timetable, giving each one a time
scale for completion"
