Trust me, from some of the people I know with Cambridge places...
You will still need to interview well enough, but this can be practiced and trained, and does not require exceptional ‘people skills’ beyond being nice enough and able to hold a conversation and talk through your thought process. You do need to prepare well, though

So is it safe to say that the scientific problem-solving and academic questions make up the vast majority, almost entirety of the interview? Yippee, that's the only part of the interview I actually enjoy! I will still prepare though to make sure it is as good as it can be, certainly, looking at some of the competition ratios from last year highlights the ferocity of competition for places.

Does anyone know if, for Trinity college, I would need a BMAT of 7+, or would such a score never be required?

I am sure they have FOIs somewhere that will tell you...?

Right, after searching those exact words, I found a couple more, more recent, FOIs for Trinity. Seems like most of their offer-holders have 5s-6s, so if my exam performance replicates my performance in past papers, I should be in good steed. Maybe the thing I read about them wanting 7s was out-of-date, or by a disgruntled, rejected applicant. Thank you.

Hi, where it says location you need to choose a college. Have a look on the Cambridge website . There’s around 30 colleges in total where you live, socialise etc. Most people choose based on location, facilities, appearance

I saw this article about bmat usage. Does anyone know if it is still up to date?

I haven't had a chance to read it but as far as I understand a 6/6/3.5A will be a good score for any college at Cambridge. It fluctuates year on year, for many reasons but a prominent one being prospective students analysing the numbers too much and making very strong unfounded inferences and extrapolations. IMO, just apply to a college you feel comfortable at, if they don't have a space but they like you, you'll get pooled.

I did last year, and I was pooled. I just wanted to see if I could apply more strategically this year.

My school made me fill in a form with where I want them to send my score for the BMAT, I had to put in which Cambridge college, put down John's randomly because I didn't really know. After visiting this weekend I definitely want to apply to Downing. Can I just change my UCAS or do I need to inform the exams officer at my school too? Like does the BMAT form need changing?
