How did you find ENB5 - Editorial??

i did question 4 ofr Grace Darling...

i didnt think it was tht bad but i found the audience difficult in that 11yr olds have just come from primary school and 14yr olds are pre-GCSE.....

i loved the commentary it gave me a chance to explain why my piece was so bad !!

i wrote 3 and a half pages for it though... oooops

do we get penalised for going over???

How did everyone else find it???

I did question 3 also, I found it started well but towards the end i was pushing the word limit, so ended it quite abruptly! I would have also liked to have brought in a few more sound effects, but concentrated more on the speakers instead... never mind!

Will wait and see!

I did question 1, as I thought it would be the easiest, but they were all good questions. I kinda wish I'd done question 2 for some reason, just would have been more interesting, but I'm not incredibly sure what the TV Times is like is it quite general audience and informal?

My commentary was awful I did it in the last 5 minutes, and only scribbled about half a page. Ah well! I think my piece was alright, so maybe it won't matter too much...

I did question two.

I said more about what I'd done in the original ENB5 thread. I'm not typing it out again

It went really well, which i was pleasantly suprised about. I did Q3, there was no way I was going to to Ibiza it was too difficult.

Anyway I never usually have the worry of reaching the word count let alone going over it, but I think I did.

Do we get penalised too badly if we are over by 200 words (approx)?

A bit late - but I did Grace Darling question number 4.

The audience was difficult, but I tried to sound upbeat, but not patronising. I added a lot of comparisons so they could relate and added lots of picture. I also cut the information into chunks so it was easily digestible and accessible.

Overall, I really have no idea how I've done - it could go either way in my opinion, and not just this exam, but for my others, too. I just want the results published soon, because I'm really anxious to know if I've screwed up or not. I don't know how I'm going to manage to not worry until then.

They can't expect us to sit there counting the words for a radio show, so I wouldn't have thought it would have mattered that much. I also think it sometimes looks like you have done more if, for example, you use the three-columned radio-format. Was harder to judge because line size is different, too :s-smilie:.

The three-columned radio format????

Did I miss a crucial stylistic feature here????

I'm sure you didn't...It's probably me being random. I did mine weirdly, I think. Really, don't worry. It's just one way, of many, of constructing it.

Ok. I did a mock radio script in lesson a while ago and wasn't told about a special format to write them in. I'm sure they won't look down on it, but it would look good if you have a specialist format to use! I'm quite worried about my English result anyway!!!!

You'll be fine - don't think about it!
I did the Ibiza website one... i thought i was quite easy though i found it quite hard to keep it brief and concise... hope it's ok. At about 2:05 into it i made the decision to rush the end bit and concentrate on the commentary.. which will hopefully be ok.

Lots of links and pop-ups and drop-down menus which i hope they will like, tho i forgot to put any sound in which apparently they love... oh well.

Wasn't the Grace Darling Pack a bit too dense and er well boring??? i read half of it and thought 'er... no'. Although my friend said she had good fun writing dramatised bits for the radio script: STORMS / LIGHTNING / THUNDER "Grace, NOooooo" "But Father, I MUST go, it is my destiny..."

I was doing this as a resit, last year it was Noahs Ark and the Panama Canal!

So I went for Grace Darling and the Radio4 script, I did a Radio Script for my original Writing coursework so hopefully I got it right as I dont have another chance.
