Things to put down eg Workshops, conferences etc

Hi all,

I'm hoping to do either Psychology or English at university and am looking for ways to make my PS stand out - I'm already attending a workshop for Psychology this week but is there anything else relating to these subjects anyone knows about? I only just found out about Sutton Trust and the deadline has passed :frown:

You could try getting experience in each branch of Psychology
e.g. Educational Psychology - a SEN school

You could also do something like peer mentoring, giving you skills that are transferrable into psychology as a whole, particularly within treatments.. such as psychotherapy.

Especially for English, the way to make your PS 'stand out' is to make sure it covers academic ground well - if these activities help you to do that, fine, but if not there's no point. Read around your subject, and pursue an aspect of it that particularly interest you.
