Thumbs up if you laughed hard at this part.

thumbs down
Bonged.
why is that funny?

Because it reminds me of those over the top American high school films, where a group of 'popular' kids say something really nasty about some one and then giggle like they're 6.

Damage control.

Church pixel.
Give them a reason to actually dislike you - they like gossiping? spread a rumour that one of them has herpes or something. :teehee:
Some say 'don't sink down to their level' but sometimes karma can't be a bitch without a little bit of leverage.

It's stupid that they can be so petty and bitchy after (I presume) less than a month of actually knowing you. Some people are like that though, try to swap accomodation?

so i just heard my hallmates discussing whether they should invite me to hang out with them and one went, "nah i dont like him" , another one goes "yeah nobody likes him" *laughter*

Don't understand what I've done?? Have gone out most nights, seems like we've had fun, clubbing etc.. I'm quite a quiet person but have made a decent effort and thought I was doing well..

Not sure what to do.

dude, thats happened to me so many times lol!! Dont worry about it too much seriously!! I remember once I was called the most boring company ever when i went clubbing by someone. then after I went a couple of times, perceptions changed and it was nothing but a little comment.

trust me, thats all it it.... I would recommend you make an even greater effort in talking to them. Just give it time, and get to know them better. How many times have do people gossip.. tons.

it sounds to me that they probably just saying it as a non-meaning comment. like drunkenly, or not seriously saying no one likes him.
even if there not, it is only early days..

good luck, remember dont take it too seriously jsut yet

They are probably being fake and trying to act the opposite to what they usually would, just so it doesn't happen to themselves. Nob heads

Very true. Y'know what OP, I have been in the same situation as you. And you know what I did? I took pleasure in the fact that my flatmates didn't like me, because that meant I wasn't 'one of them'. Would you want to be friends with people that bitchy, lame and insecure? Nope.
The fact that your flatmate said 'nobody likes him' shows how stupid they are. Obviously other people like you, they sound like jealous little cretins trying to fit in by slagging people off. Insecure tossers! **** 'em!:yep:
Maybe they're the type of people who bitch about everyone - i.e. they bitch about you when you're not there, they bitch about another person when they're not there etc. etc. How do they act towards you? Either way, they sound childish.

Well said

To be honest, they probably don't even dislike you it all goes to that whole impress who you can whilst they are there so i don't end up having everyone else bitching about me. I bet they act fine when they are on their own towards you though, lots of people seem to do this.

Ok little man, no need to vent your lack of self worth to the online community.

they're only trying to look cool infront of each other, they say that now but they probably will change their minds as they get to know you.
Don't take it to heart, keep on doing what you're doing, clubbing etc, and come out of your shell.
you get new friends and make them soon realise that they should be your matee. Build your rep dude.
I'm guessing the one that suggested asking you is being genuine? If so why not go out with them and leave the other two hanging, to get back at them.

Ask them to make sure that you are out of earshot next time before slagging you off behind your back. And then go out, socialise and meet new people.
