The saddest thing you will ever see me do... :sigh:
I took a picture of my stationery (not all of it! I couldn't be bothered to get out my ringbinders and lever arches!).
For your viewing pleasure.
I'm especially proud of my amazing Post it note highlighter, pen and document flag combo. It's shaped like a pen and there's a highlighter at one end with a groove filled with document files and then on the other end there's a (black ) pen!

I'm bored. That's my only excuse.

Edit: Ignore the plastic bag underneath my refill pad. I didn't want it to get dirty!

That's because stationery shopping is the best bit! :awesome: I'm going clothes shopping in a minute and I'm a bit 'meh.'
Is that Erykah Badu in your sig? I love her hair!

I don't like them very much. :dontknow:

I know...stationary shopping...eeeeeekkkk!! the excitement is unbearable...and for the record stationary shopping>clothes shopping
Yes, its Erykah, totally adore her!! :colondollar:I've also got similar dreads but way shorter...still waiting for them to grow that long!!

Organize yourself how you like! I use refill pads to take notes and then transfer them to ringbinders (I like the way I can then put handouts in between, organise them, move them around etc.) and once I'm finished with my notes are archived in a Lever Arch... I'm cool like that  Depends what you write in and how you want to do it. Don't need Lever Arch files if you don't want them and Pukka Pad suits you.

Also, for me, notebooks such as Moleskine's and Paperblanks aren't for taking notes in - I use them as a journal, a scrapbook of photos, or keep them in a draw because they're too nice I don't want to start something in them and decide I want it for something else!
However, from what I gather, people who take notes in notebooks are generally tidier and more organized than me (I mess up things so always like to be able to copy them out on a clean sheet, thus ringbinders), so have no need for Lever Arch files as they are already bound in a notebook.

I've thought way too much about the uses of Lever Arch files I think...

Thank you! I'm still totally not sure about how to organise my notes. I might just transfer notes from pukka pads to lever arch files once I fill them up as they have subject dividers which helps whilst making notes in lectures/tutorials.

I just read this whole thread. Total porn for me too!

I'm going all the way to London next week so I can splash out in the giant Goodge Street Paperchase... can't waiiiiit! I absolutely love my purple filofax, with a baby and a job and uni I survive on it to remember where i'm meant to be and when. Think I might get a seperate academic planner though, like a Palgrave, to keep academic and personal lifes a bit more seperate... not sure yet.

Penwise- I love sharpies and the ye olde faithful Staedtler Triplis Fineliners!!!

Am searching for a pen that I can highlight over without it getting smudged; not a biro though (hate them). Anyone??

I love the Paperchase on Goodge Street. I was there the other day, it's very difficult to stop myself going bankrupt in there!

You have dreads? I'm so jealous! I took mine out a couple of months ago because my scalp makes it impossible to keep my hair in one style for a long time. It's made my hair grow SO much though! So now I think I'm going to just have twists and redo them every couple of weeks. I want locs though! They're so pretty. I got annoyed waiting for my hair to grow... :frown:

And yes! Stationery shopping > every other type of shopping.
I've decided I much prefer shopping online.
But now I have to take the shoes I bought online to Forever 21 on Oxford Street to get them exchanged. Apparently a size 6 in American terms isn't a size 6 for UK females. Who knew?

Oh Goodge Street's Paperchase!
I don't like biros much, prefer rollerballs, If you get one that dries quickly and get a good highlighter, it's a bit less likely to smudge. Though tbh, I think there are better pen options to reduce smudging... What about ballpoint pens?

BiB: You just HAD to go there didn't you? Making me envious of your paper...

Aww! Well if it's any consolation I did get them on sale  As if I was going to pay 4 quid for a notebook, when I could have got it for 2 quid down in asda/tescos lol. I did stock up a lot so I have plenty of supplies for this year

It has some good stuff in it, and i'd say it was a good buy, though it does have some problems:

- Very bulky, too many pages packed in!
- Pages crease very easily, which isn't helped by the bulkiness
- Not massive amounts of room in the diary sections eg 'time' 'place', but then again I've just filled in my freshers week timetable so its really packed, will probably be less hectic on a normal week where you can consult your timetable for the majority of academic things rather than filling them in your diary!

Thanks for that. I don't want one that's bulky so I may not go for it, if it's too bulky. I got a bulky one last year, and I think that was the main reason I hardly used it since it took up a lot of space in my bag

I used the Palgrave one last year and didn't think it was as good as made out. Not worth the money if you ask me.

Hmm, I've read mixed reviews about it, I think my uni bookshop stocks it, so I may go along there next week and check it out. I don't want to order something online, and then realise it's rubbish

On another note, what is the "filofax" people on here speak of ? :colondollar:

Filofaxes are personal organisers. They look like this. You can get them in loads of different sizes, designs and colours and they last forever, especially as you can buy refills.
Filofaxes are amazing! Once you get one you won't be able to survive without it!
Which reminds me... I need to get refills so I can start using my old one. It's not really a filofax though, it's a Paperchase imitation.

Oooh that reminded me.. I've got a lovely Filofax from Paperchase, purple with birds on  What I was wondering was, how do you get refills? Where sells them?

Most stationary shops. Paperchase do, as do rymans and smiths. Failing that there is ebay or amazon

Nice one  My brother bought me mine as a present, so I wasn't sure if Paperchase did refills

Ahh dream come true!!! Do you know if that's only online or is it instore aswell?? I hate ordering stuff online haha
I love shopping for stationery more than for anything else
this thread has made me so excited for my big staples trip on wednesday :P
I was thinking of doing my lecture notes in a refill pad that then gets transferred to a ringbinder, and then making my neat, condensed notes in a notebook so that when I come to revise I have it all in a book rather than individual sheets? Anyone else planning to do this or is it a bit overkill to use both?

I don't know whether to buy a notebook for each module, that would be 6...
I dunno whether we're likely to end up with enough notes from each module to fill one book, i'd hate to just go over and need two, that would annoy the hell out of me. Oh, can't believe i'm putting so much thought into this haha.

I get excited over stationary :mmm:.

I am using all my pens from last year. In a few months I'll probably need to get some new markers, but I only really use them for stuff that takes me a while to get my head around, or revision, so I have a while off yet.
I got a basic planner from rymans for £2.99 from Letts which I find is perfect. I now just need lots of plastic wallets (for folders) and my folders for each module :h:.
Been stalking this thread for ages. So far I have staedtler (sp??) fine-liner coloured pens and the Dodo Acad Pad planner. Now time for the notepads, refill pads and pens

I converted all my class and lecture notes into plastic wallets and then into folders to keep them neat. I learnt throughout the year, so when it came to revision, I bought a large notepad and went through everything and made a table of everything I had covered i.e.
French:
que, qui, ou
rooms in the house
on holiday
building questions etc.

German:
Passive
etc etc etc

Then crossed off the ones I knew from revision and what was remaining, I got used said notebook for revision, instead of doing it twice throughout the year.

Equally, you could just do page numbers in the folder and do up a contents page so come to revision you know where everything is.
