Vocaroo your accent!

Original post by I Kant Spall
Given the nature of TSR, in that it attracts so many students from around the UK and the world at large, I thought it would be interesting to create a thread where we record some clips of ourselves speaking in our own accents, courtesy of Vocaroo of course.

http://vocaroo.com/

1) Think of something to read or say, the sillier the better
2) Press record
3) Click here to save
4) Post the share link here in the thread

I also ask that you listen to your voice message yourself first to hear if it's too loud or if there's too much background noise.

Here's me reading the first post... guess where I'm from and have fun!

Irish?

Yorkshire :d

Somewhere in the south somewhere  Could you guys do mine (On the first page)
On second thoughts it's probably better for all of us that my Yorkshire accent isn't on here :teehee:

You have no idea how disappointed I am in your lack of "Heeeeeeello madaaaam" which I read all your posts in :frown:

Hahaha, much better, thank you :woo:
I felt really awkward doing that as you can probably tell, but here it is TSR!

I'm reading out my post because otherwise I feel like a bit of an idiot!

My accent changes hugely depending on who I'm talking to and whether I'm home, but generally, southerners think I sound like a farmer (which is weird) and northerners think I sound posh (which I don't agree with!)

You sound like Isy Suttie.
Here's mine: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1Ceu4297T89

I've been told that I sound American. What do you think?

Instantly googled, listened and smiled. Not a bad person to sound like.

You do sound a bit American.

I smiled at your joke

Gonna keep this thread open so I can contribute tomorrow. I'd be surprised if people can guess exactly where I'm from (aside from north west). I don't think I sound anything like the people I grew up with.

Woo! Your recitation was incredibly moving :P I'm actually Scottish. Perhaps I should have slipped in an extra "aye, laddie" at the end...

There is a girl in my English class who is Scottish but lived in America for a while and she has a very similar accent to you. I didn't want to guess though, in case I was wrong because I'm terrible at telling apart accents.

And thank you very much!

Wow really nice voice. Just one thing though: what do you exactly say at the end? :frown:

Okay, here goes - I highly doubt anyone would be able to tell where I'm from based on this recording, though. And I hate my accent - everyone always says 'you sound so (insert adjective)' and I really, really wish I didn't. I don't even think I do...

South West? Bristol?

You sound really familiar and I have no idea why. :colondollar:

2nd Edit: I've deleted my awful awful voice, I hate it. and now I'm going to bed. :p:
