ICMP, London - total yearly costs HELP!!

Hi,
I'm looking to study the guitar degree at the ICMP this September. I'm a mature student (will be 26 by then) and currently work full time on a low income. But I'm really struggling to make the finances for it work! If there's anyone who is currently studying there or anyone who can advise me somehow, it would be much appreciated :smile:

Here goes:

- I should get the maximum loan and grant (totaling roughly £14,000).
- Yearly course fees are only £5,950
- I assume I can make maybe £3,000-£5,000 per year from a part time job (please correct this if you think it's wrong).
- However, I calculate my living expenses (accommodation, bills, food, travel, personal items etc, etc) to cost me around £17,000 per year (and that's being optimistic).

Having done the maths, this leaves me with a shortfall of around £2,000-£3,000 per year. Even if I could take on more work during the summer, I'm still struggling.

Is this typical? Or am I costing it too high?
