Hey there Harlett and thanks for the reassurance  Well yes I do feel a bit stronger this year but the only reason would be the hundreds of unis and hospitals I applied to (basically every existent one :P ) I also finished the Access to Medicine diploma in July. As there are well many nurses and good A level and Access grades for them to assess, I can feel how tough it is on the assessors at Sheffield . And as the course has become that desired , I guess the criteria regarding all the various voluntary and extracurricular stuff would have gone almost as high up as dentistry . I love being a DHT applicant , Harlett what type of experiences do you have?

Yeah it must be tough on them. I have been a dental nurse for 8 years, worked in a general practice for the first 4 years and locum for the last 4 years. Worked all over South Yorkshire, private, NHS, specialist practices and also Pinderfields Hospital dental dept. However, recieved a rejection letter this morning :frown: Made a call for feedback and they said it was due to the fact I am currently doing my Maths GCSE (complete in March). They would prefer qualifications to be complete......which is new to me as I thought offers were conditional! I have achieved the highest grades possible in everything else I have done so it's really disappointing that they can't take this into consideration. But oh well, maybe next year!! Congrats on your interview!! Hope it goes well, sure it will  What experience do you have?

Dear Harlett, my great respect to the enormous experiences. The thing is that unfortunately people with pending quals are always at a disadvantage. That's due to the many many ready grades that reach their post box. I wish you persisted with your application and go for UCAS. currently , I have submitted my application to 12 places and have some 2 more to think about. Keep persisting and do apply elsewhere !!! Me - newly qualified nurse with no post qual experience, Access at Distinction .the good thing about my application are the various voluntary experiences..St john Ambulance, Emergency dept at St Thomas Hospital, at a primary school. Im also a registered childminder which I really do hope to help in my therapy training.... well nothing sure yet though BEST of luck to you XXX
Guys what is the ratio of interviewed : places allocated ???

Thanks  you have excellent experience yourself, I'm sure you will be fine getting on this year! Wish I could apply elsewhere but I have two small children that need me close by. I also volunteered at a breastfeeding group as a peer support which was really nice, got to promote better oral development etc lol. Again, best of luck in your interview! Sure you will nail it  x x x

hi Hun,
i received an email from Bristol confirming they had received my application and I met the academic requirements and will be interviewed, they said they would send a letter in jan 2014 confirming my date got an interview! Nothing from Leeds yet. Where else have you applied? X x
Has anybody applied to Leeds? In the application form you attach your personal statement in the further information, does it have to be 4000 characters? & in the education section it says write the name of awarding body in full, well there isn't enough space :/
