Soft vs Hard subjects

What I am really confused about is that someone with 4 soft a level subjects are obviously more likely to get AAAA to someone with hard subjects so therefore when it comes to applying to uni they actually get an advantage to those studying hard subjects!!!! Is this actually true as I am studying History, Maths, geography, English Literature and Creative Writing ... i got BCCCD in my mocks

Well if they're soft subjects they aren't thought as highly of. Some soft subjects like critical thinking and general studies a lot of uni's don't even accept, whereas if you got an A in Maths or Physics uni's are going to favour that rather than an A in media or A in critical thinking.
