I don't know if you've been living under a rock or are 100% serious, but anyway....

A whip is a type of car, generally a Mercedes.

I've never heard of this of a car being called a "whip" before either.

It's because they used to control horses with whips, and the steering wheel provided a similar method of control to the car so it was known as a "whip".

Nowadays, pretty much any expensive car is known as a whip (and it's been popularized due to the German whip song)

Didn't they control horses with reigns? As a rider I've never considered the whip the primary means on control, more an emergency if I need my horse to move quickly.

That song is terrible :lol:
