When I first got my insurance a year and a half ago cheapest I found was Bell insurance. They're part of Admiral. Do a quote on comparethemarket.com, I think that's what I did. Confused.com is much more expensive so allow them. Also when filling out the options, remember it's cheaper to say the car is parked on the road than on a driveway or garage. I tried out various permutations of the options they give you to try to reduce the premium the comparison website was giving me.

wow that's shockingly expensive! What you could do (and what I did) was to put mum and dad's name as main driver, and put yours as 3rd driver. Totally legal, and the guy on the insurance helpline even told me he did this, lol.

Try that and see if it makes a difference.

Ive already added my mums details on it. As for my dad when i put his details on it goes up even though he has 15 years no claims bonus.

Try putting him first, then your mum, or leave your mum off and just have your dad and you. Try all the combos if you haven't done so already. Also are you sure you're adding them as the main driver?

When I put either parentas main driver it goes upto 3k without an black box. I am happy to have a black box in my car so with it it it goes to 2k. Which is what it is for me as thr policy holder...

Why don't you put mum and dad's name and yours, and have a black box policy? That's what I did.
