US student for the graduate program...what are college certificates?!

And does anyone know how I can obtain them from US schools? I can and have requested my transcripts without a problem, but I'm not exactly sure what a certificate is equivalent to. Is it just my degree? Are they asking to see a scanned copy of my MA and BA degree?

I know this is a thick-headed question but all the googling in the world has not helped me!
